This is my first build, and at first it wouldn't work because of the ram, and then I just had problems with my GPUS overheating because they were too hot. I just wanna get my machine funning well and play BF3 on ultra settings which in most cases I can't because of SLI stuttering.
So I can play on high fine. But I mean this is ridiculous why is there sli issues with BF3, A hell of a popular game. I can't be just from my GPUs not being able to run it not my connection.
I can run bf3 at fps on ultra when it doesn't lag. Further, if you have a reference GPU i.

The 8-pin power connector is in a bit of a different position than we've grown used to, closer to the rear edge of the board next to the RAM slots - it looks like that may have been a tricky issue for ASUS engineers to efficiently route around all of those memory lanes. Everyone is welcome to this party.
This area is a bit more "squished" compared to other P9X79 boards from ASUS we've tested because of the massive amounts of PCI-e slots on the bottom which forces the CPU socket "higher" on the board, and it looks like they did a pretty good job on what was most likely a significant technical challenge. Here's a close shot of the Asus P9X79 WS AI Suite II 6-pin PCI-e connector nestled ever so neatly just above the first PCI-e slot to help power some of the more raunchy GPU setups this workstation-oriented board might be expected to see.
In the upper left we can see the two 4-pin CPU fan headers for some push-pull goodness. The expansion slots are quite literally stacked.

Render workflows, prepare to meet your match in a big way. Of course we'd expect a USB 3. The bottom right of the board is also pretty packed with a firewire and USB 2. I'm sounding like a broken record at this point.

It's smooth, snappy, the layout makes sense, and the overall appearance is modern and attractive. Nearly everything is easily navigated with the mouse, as clicks are swiftly registered and the pointer tracks smoothly.
But, possibly more importantly, is that it's just as easily navigated with a keyboard alone, and the layout is familiar to anyone who has dabbled in the BIOS before. One of the most challenging things with a new motherboard or a new BIOS is finding the elusive option you're looking for.

The shortcut displays a list of functions, and it'll take you the the desired section without having to first go into "Advanced Mode" and then sift through various menus and sub-menus. The Fan Xpert utility is a clear differentiator for the board, and enables an array of fan speed profiles which are Asus P9X79 WS AI Suite II endless, and can be tailored to your desired needs.
AISuite II offers a "modular" program which allows for full customization from the operating system.
The modularity makes it very easy to disable any of the various components of AISuite II from running, and everything may be accessed from a single small, unobtrusive dock on your desktop. To dig deeper in each of the individual features of AI Suite II, check out our editor Brandon's extremely detailed take on it.
Some people are simply more comfortable with a graphical software UI on their desktop, and others would rather tune their motherboard in the BIOS. And, don't worry about it being a resource hog, as all of the programs are easily disabled from running under AI Suite II. Performance From a performance standpoint, the P9X79 WS doesn't have much that we would have expected to significantly differentiate itself from our first Asus P9X79 WS AI Suite II at the P9X79 family apart from the extra multi-GPU bandwidth- the core components hold mostly the same with some extra tuning and validation to ensure reliability.
It was actually a surprisingly-consistend result, literally straddling some better, some worse the performance of the P9X79 Deluxe by a tiny read: NIC tests were performed at a high level to confirm low CPU usage, and when paired with a high-end router, provided great Gigabit throughput. User is the most powerful option here, as it allows you to choose exactly how fast each fan will go at a given CPU temperature.
But how could Asus P9X79 WS AI Suite II possibly know which RPM the fan will output at a given power output percentage?
Clicking the Test option will spin down the chosen fan and slowly ramp it up to its max value. You can see an example of a result in the shot below:
